Tri-Arrow supports the community

Tri-Arrow and its CleanCare Environmental Services Division contributes to our local community by supporting environmental endeavours with financial donations. As a leader in the environmental waste management field, we want to keep our world green and environmentally sustainable. Keeping with that sentiment, we support the SHaRP (Salmon Habitat Restoration Program). SHaRP hires post-secondary students and Surrey high-school students to promote watershed stewardship and habitat enhancement for fish species within Surrey. The SHaRP program provides youth with valuable work experience in various aspects of environmental management.  These students develop a strong stewardship mentality through their work with SHaRP by having an increased awareness of Surrey’s salmonids and the sensitivity of their habitat areas.

Tri-Arrow Industrial Recovery Inc. http://www.tri-arrow.com is please to be able to provide you with the latest 2012 Edition of the Emergency Response Guidebook at no charge($9.95 value!)

The 2012 Emergency Response Guidebook was developed jointly by Transport Canada (TC), the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the Secretariat of Transport and Communications of Mexico (SCT) and with the collaboration of CIQUIME (Centro de Informaciòn Quìmica para Emergencias) of Argentina, for use by fire fighters, police, and other emergency services personnel who may be the first to arrive at the scene of a transportation incident involving dangerous goods.

ERG2012 is primarily a guide to aid first responders in quickly identifying the specific or generic hazards of the material(s) involved in the incident, and protecting themselves and the general public during the initial response phase of the incident.

This guidebook will assist responders in making initial decisions upon arriving at the scene of a dangerous goods incident. It should not be considered as a substitute for emergency response training, knowledge or sound judgment. ERG2012 does not address all possible circumstances that may be associated with a dangerous goods incident. It is primarily designed for use at a dangerous goods incident occurring on a highway or railroad. Be mindful that there may be limited value in its application at fixed facility locations.

BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THIS GUIDEBOOK BEFORE USING IT DURING AN EMERGENCY !

Comments about the Emergency Response Guidebook

Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG):

Canada in collaboration with the United States and Mexico prepares an Emergency Response Guidebook for accidents involving dangerous goods. This Guidebook has existed, in one form or another, since the latter part of the 70's.

The typical end-users of the Guidebook are mostly private emergency responders (normally from industry), fire-fighters, and police officers

APRIL SHOWERS, MAY FLOWERS

Tri-Arrow uses separation and recovery technology to recycle as many waste streams as possible. Our goal is focus on recycling vs final disposal options whenever possible. We collect wastewater from many sources including the marine industry, contaminated remediation sites, tank cleaning projects, oily spills, metal wastewater  processors, vacuum truck operators,  and we process on a batch basis. Under our long standing Metro Vancouver Discharge Permit we discharge treated water as per our discharge criteria.

 triarrow flowers resized 600

To assist in watering our flowers planted near the Facility, we have used some minor quantities of  treated wastewater to water our plants and flowers. As you can see, we have glorious colors and recycled water at use!

This is a perfect example of how treated wastewater can be recycled to produce a thing of beauty.  Tri-Arrow believes in nature and the environment and stands by their beliefs.

Tri-Arrow’s ‘TDGA vs Hazardous Waste’ Catered Info Session a Success!!!

We had a great informational education session on February 2nd at our catered seminar  in Calgary at the Deerfoot Inn Conference Centre.  The catered food included some of Alberta’s finest cuts of beef and some refreshments.

The packed conference room attendees included Environmental Managers from petrochemical companies, hospitals, environmental consultants, and industrial hazardous waste generators.  The feedback received gave full appreciation of  the current regulatory update on TDGA vs Hazardous Waste in Alberta.

The  educational information we provided was invaluable and confirmed that many companies were  unaware that they were not in compliance with some of current regulations which may increase their  companies’ environmental liability exposure.

Our goal is to provide all Generators with technical information  to be knowledgeable when disposing of special wastes streams both ‘Regulated’ and ‘Non-Regulated’ and by having  Tri-Arrow as their sole source contracted Partner.

Tri-Arrow is committed to maintaining the highest level of customer service, and is a leader in providing knowledge and expertise in the field of ‘Hazardous Waste Management’.

We do this by using environmentally sound disposal and recycling options, while minimizing risk of liability and lowering costs by means of ‘Separation and Recovery Technology’.

Three of Vancouver’s Trucking industry companies, First Truck Centre, Reflection Truck Body Repair Ltd and Ocean Trailer came together to organize this event, with the intent to assist companies in producing sales, marketing and educational opportunities for businesses and individuals. Opportunity was provided for all companies to promote themselves and build relationships with the other companies.

Tri Arrow and Bikes

It was a timely opportunity to reveal Tri-Arrow's new tractor-trailer with it's very impressive decals.  Driver Kevin Langille made the trek from Edmonton with facility manager Darrin Starchuk for the event.  They took 2 trophies back with them - 2nd place for "Best Tractor-Trailer Combo", and 3rd place for "Best Company-Owned Truck".

Take a look at our photo gallery of our trucks taken that day and see what we mean, great trucks, great community involvement, great atmosphere.

We are very pleased with the awards and turnouts for this event.  Our company pride in our trucks really showed at this event and our employees and trucks gave us a great feeling of accomplishment.

Great job and we look forward to the next event.

Climate Smart

Tri-Arrow's focus is reducing environmental impact of industrial waste. One of our recent endeavours was to participate in the Climate Smart Training Program. The program is a partnership with the City of Surrey, the Surrey Board of Trade, Metro Vancouver, and the social enterprise, Climate Smart Businesses Ltd.

We completed an inventory of energy use and greenhouse(GHG) emissions, and developed an action plan to reduce emissions, save costs, and increase brand lift. We undertook the training and gained the sustainable tools to become more competitive in an era of carbon regulation and volatile energy prices.

Our reduction strategies included:

Using rail transportation more frequently
Recycling waste oil and flammable liquids into alternative fuels
Recycing paper and plastic materials
Shipping in larger volumes to reduce the number of trips
Installing more energy efficient lighting
Ultimately, our primary goal is using separation and recovery technology, to recover and reuse resources and products from what is known as waste. Over the past decade, we have moved from managing waste, to recovering products, and managing resource recovery. In this manner, we continue to strive for product recovery using the best and most innovative technology available.

Sustainability is not only a key word description but a mantra in how we do it and what we do. Our sustainability success is a holistic process that involves the following stakeholders:

Our People
Our Safety
Our Environment
Our Community
Our Industry
Our People are challenged to be the best they can be and to work as a team to deliver exceptional results in all areas of the business.

Our Safety is of the highest priority. There are no short cuts to safety excellence. It requires the commitment of everyone to improve equipment, processes, and procedures to eliminate potential risks and to avoid incidents.

Our Environment includes minimizing our own environmental footprint and also helping industrial customers reduce their environmental impact.

Our Community is one of our key stakeholders and includes our neighbours, non-governmental organizations, elected officials, and regulatory representatives. We have an ongoing developmental program to enhance awareness and work as a team in building relationships.

Our Industry includes working with our peers, and in associations, to share information and best practices. We share best practices to help all of us better protect the environment.

Tri-Arrow is involved with many associations including:

British Columbia Environment Industry Association(BCEIA)
Environmental Managers Association of BC(EMA)
Recycling Council of BC(RCBC)
British Columbia Used Oil Management Association(BCUOMA)
Western Canada Audit Roundtable(WCAR)
Environmental Services Association of Alberta(ESAA)
